How to make small text for an Instagram bio

A practical guide to tiny bio text, with copyable examples and a clear distinction between bios and usernames.

Start with one short line

Write a readable bio first. Keep your name, contact details and important descriptive words in ordinary text. Choose one short phrase to style, such as “collecting little moments”.

Compare, copy, then preview

Open the Instagram bio tool below. Enter your phrase and compare small caps with superscript. Copy one result and paste it into the bio field in Instagram’s profile editor. Preview the saved profile on another device if possible.

Know where it may fail

A bio is not a username. The @handle has its own validation rules, and some glyphs may be unsupported in an app font. If you see boxes, awkward spacing or a rejected save, use ordinary letters for that phrase.
